Do You Really Know American English ReviewThis book is almost useless. List after list of fill in the blank phrases do not give the ESL student a sense of how and when these phrases are used. Many, many of the idioms, phrases, and references are so outdated or corny, the reader should be warned not to use them.

At one point, the authors claim, "Without a doubt, Americans lead the world in name-calling." Certainly there is a plethora of insulting, narrow minded and belligerent language displayed in this book.
