An excellent student overview of the development of our modern English language coupled with history of various rulers and church history in both Britain and "dark age" Europe. I did not have such a text in my student days - too bad. It is targeted to the 7-12 grades which is about right but I would recommend parents consider it for the 7th grade so the student gains an good overview that they will cover through middle and high school.
