Spoken Words ReviewBrilliance. Sheer brilliance. Had me from the first page and held
me to the last. Madd love to Brian Peterson for writing a book that was not only a blessing in reading about these characters, but, an awakening of my Spirit in reading this book.
Reading the back of the book I went with idenitfying with Jay, the aspiring writer, but as I turned the pages and learned more about these characters, I recognized that I am more Troi with some Jay (sounds familiar...a la Sex and the City...lol).
Troi, the poet, who lives and breathes poetry and comes from a space deep within, is the the one I came to identify with.
Each of the characters made me see something in myself, which,
harkened me back to Carrie and friends, and all that talk about them being one person. Each character...Jay, Troi, Stephon, and Nichelle are me.
As you all know I wrote about this book and sung its praises on how much I loved reading it, and a brutha wasn't even done, but, I am proud to say, and a little remiss, that I have finished a truly remarkable book that I encourage each of you to purchase if not for yourself then for someone else.
To Brian Peterson and to steal some of your words and to you writers out there...Just write. Stay true to your voice and write until you feel it.
